Jewelry from Rancho Santa Fe Estate & Fine Jewelry
It’s been a busy few months in the studio, but I’m hoping to get caught up on my recent project posts soon! This one was for JoTal, eternity band manufacturer here in San Diego. The owner brought over a dozen samples and we pulled out the pieces for this shoot. See a couple of the images above.
Because JoTal is carried by retailers around the country, I make sure that the images I provide are not too tightly cropped (I did crop them for this post) so that his clients can size them to fit their website.

Here’s another fun one from Magboo. Destined for competition entry, this awesome floral necklace features silver, twigs, and plastic in vivid purples and pinks. It’s unique and one-of-a-kind, and I love the way it pops against the black gradient background.

Did I ever tell you about that time I got to shoot a full size high heel made out of silver? Well, I did, and it was a-maz-ing! Tara Magboo, of Magboo, recently dropped off this treasure along with a couple other beautiful necklaces. I was excited to have an excuse to bust out my black gradient photography gear, and even more excited to photograph something so unusual as this! Tara certainly puts the artist in jewelry artist, and it’s always exciting to see what she has in her arsenal.

I love meeting new clients, and when Tara Magboo stopped by the studio with some of her quirky cool animal-inspired pieces from the Magboo collection, I knew I liked her style. While I never tire of shooting traditional jewelry, sometimes ya just wanna take a picture of a fox smoking a cigarette (and obviously you have to add a burning tip in Photoshop). Tara is an awesome designer and all around cool chick, and I’m so excited we got a chance to work together on this project.
