Over the past week or so I’ve been shooting & editing a batch of pieces for Rancho Santa Fe Estate & Fine Jewelry. As the name suggests, the boutique is located in the very affluent RSF community in San Diego, and carries absolutely incredible estate jewelry. Owner, Coleen Freeman, has a beautifully curated collection which satisfies both those who are looking for outstanding diamonds & gems, as well as those looking for familiar names such as Cartier, Tiffany, Oscar Heyman, etc.

The shots are kept relatively simple with white backgrounds and soft reflections & shadows, letting the pieces speak for themselves and also lending the jeweler some flexibility for using the images on her website as well as in print ads.

I’m about half way through the project, so expect another post soon!

Convertible

There are moments when I’m overcome with a wave of gratitude for what I get to do within the jewelry business. Such was the case when I received this convertible ring/pendant boulder opal piece from DeBella Fine Gems & Jewelry Arts. Although I’ll be the first to admit I’m not exactly an opal aficionado, I’ve never seen a boulder opal quite this lively. And of course with the sprinkling of colored melee on the sides, it’s exactly the sort of play of color (hehe) that is classic DeBella. Another fun shoot in the books, and a lovely reminder of how fortunate I am to get to work with incredible artists who allow me to help commemorate their incredible art.
